Copper alloy, bent, tapering fragment of one arm of a pair of Middle Saxon tweezers. An estimated 90% of the arm survives with an old break close to the looped return of the missing second arm. The wider unbroken end of the arm is nibbed inwards to act as a grip. The outer side is decorated with a total of twelve ring and dots along the length of the arm placed in an alternate sequence of a transverse pair followed by a single central. A complete pair of tweezers with different decoration is recorded as BH-FA4427 on this database. Circa AD600-800. Estimated surviving length 42mm mm

A cast copper alloy sub-rectangular buckle with a single loop. The strap bar is narrow and off-set with expanded, splayed feet at either terminal. The front edge is curved and features a collar and knop, with a groove separating each feature. A pin recess is visible, but the pin is missing. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour. This buckle dates to circa 1500-1650. The Buckle measures 36.42 mm in length, 24.00 mm in width, 8.46 mm thick and weighs 8.5 g Whitehead, p29.

A sherd from the rim of a cermaic vessel - the sherd has been heavily over fired or possibly burnt. In form it most resembles Roman Black burnishedwares although the fabric is very course and similar to that of medieval cooking vessels being mica-rich and with significant amounts of rounded quartz inclusions. The internal rim of vessel is raised with a distinct curved projection which is emphasised by a circumferential incised groove. CONSECRATIO, Eagle standing left on ground, head turned to the right, wings spread but close to body, . There is possibly an officina letter in the exergue. Probably Mint of Rome. Note that the obverse has a draped bust which is very rare for the type and both the Cunetio and Normanby references are to pieces with just a head.

An incomplete cast copper alloy pin from a buckle of late Medieval to Post Medieval date (1200 - 1500 AD). The pin is sub rectangular in plan, and rectangular in cross section. The shank of the pin tapers to a blunt end. The pin is slighlty wider and deeper at the head of the pin, where the loop that held the pin to the buckle bar has broken off, leaving two rough areas, one at the end of the pin and one underneath. The pin has a mid green patina A similar pin is HESH-170955. Surviving length 31mm. Width 4mm. Thickness 7mm. Weight 1.3g.

The front is rounded and has a notched pin rest. On the front of the buckle plate a diagonal incised groove marks where the frame meets either end of the narrowed strap bar. An incomplete copper alloy double-looped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1550-1650). The buckle has two symmetircal D-shaped loops with triangular knops at opposite outside edges representing acorns, where the pin would rest. The central bar is slightly recessed and shows wear due to the action of the pin. At either end of the bar are two further moulded acorn motifs. The pin is present though the tip appears to be missing. The face of the buckle is rounded and heavily worn, the reverse is concave. An incomplete copper-alloy single looped sub-annular buckle frame of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1660-1720. The buckle frame is oval in shape and D-shaped in cross-section. The buckle is undecorated. On the underside of the buckle two drilled holes are visible in the centre of the inside of the two longest edges, opposite one another, where a separate spindle would have been inserted.
