Record ID: DUR-2D90CD
Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Darlington
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A complete cast lead weight of the Medieval to Post Medieval period (AD1350-1800).
The weight is semi-spherical, the upper rounded surface is badly pitted with some scuff marks which seem to be of a modern nature. the opposing flat surface is also pitted, though not to the same extent.
The general patina on all surfaces is of a pale grey or green colouring.
The artefact weighs just over two imperial pounds, probably indicating it's use as a weight. However, the form is somewhat unusual.
Height: 35.02mm
Width: 78.48mm
Weight: 985g
