An incomplete copper-alloy single looped sub-rectangular buckle frame of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500-1650. The buckle frame has concave sides with a narrowed strap bar. The front is rounded and has a notched pin rest. On the front of the buckle plate a diagonal incised groove marks where the frame meets either end of the narrowed strap bar. The buckle is otherwise undecorated. The pin and plate are lost.
The metal is dark grey in colour. The buckle frame is 27.4mm in length, 24.0mm in width, 3.1mm thick, and weighs 5.3g.

An incomplete copper-alloy single looped sub-annular buckle frame of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1660-1720. The buckle frame is oval in shape and D-shaped in cross-section. The buckle is undecorated. On the underside of the buckle two drilled holes are visible in the centre of the inside of the two longest edges, opposite one another, where a separate spindle would have been inserted. The spindle is now lost. There are no recesses for a pin or plate.
The metal is grey in colour with one patch of reddish iron corrosion visible at one of the shorter edges of the oval. The object appears…

A fragment of a cast copper-alloy double looped oval-shaped buckle frame of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1550-1650. Part of one loop remains. The second loop, strap bar, and pin have been lost. There is a moulded rosette in the centre of the outer edge of the loop. The rosette has a central pistil surrounded by six petals. The loop is wide at either side of the rosette and narrows as it curves towards the missing strap bar. An incomplete cast copper-alloy single looped oval-shaped buckle frame of Medieval date, c.AD 1250-1400. The buckle has a narrowed and off-set strap bar. The outer edge of the frame is decorated with four lobed knops divided by three transverse grooves on the front edge of the buckle frame. The central groove is flanked by ridges and the outermost edge of each side groove is also raised into a ridge. The central groove also serves as a pin rest. No trace of a buckle plate remains and the pin has been lost. The reverse is plain.
