Copper alloy and iron furniture fitting, as kindly identified by Tom Redmayne, correcting an initial identification as a bell by this reporter. An open copper alloy open socket has a thickened and everted rim around its mouth and slightly converging sides which end in a flat top; the copper alloy part of the object is 30.8mm high. An incomplete cast copper-alloy drawer handle dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1700-1800). The handle is broadly trefoil in shape and would have had a rectangular suspension loop which is now broken and missing. The pull or handle is decorated with a central moulded head, possibly of a cherub, with an extended neck connecting to a body at the base with wings either side which is surrounded by scrolls.
