An incomplete cast copper alloy mount or strap fitting of post-medieval date. The mount head is a very slightly domed sexfoil in plan with moulded grooves through each petal to its opposite, and raised lentoid bosses on each petal tip. The reverse of the head is hollow and has the remains of four integral shanks which would have secured the mount in place. These are largely missing due to old breaks. This object may have adorned a casket or box or due to its size, maybe a horse harness.
