Fragment of a Roman hand-turned rotary quern. About one eighth of the upper stone survives, including part of the outer edge: the inner point of the wedge may be at the central hole but is too incomplete and abraded to be certain. Assuming this is the central hole, and given the curve of the outer edge, the complete diameter is estimated to be at least c. 500mm but this is tentative given the small section of outer edge surviving and the wear on the broken corners. A copper alloy penannular armlet/ bracelet, five copper alloy fragments of an incomplete armlet/ braclet of possible hook-and-eye type and ten curved and twisted copper alloy fragments of a cable stranded bracelet/ armlet. All bracelet/ armlet types are known from excavations in Colchester dating to the late Roman period, AD c.320-450. The finder reports that the items were found in situ, with the twisted fragments 100mm away from the complete and fragmentary armlet. An incomplete and corroded Roman harness fitting (c. AD 150-c. 250). This object, possibly a strap slide, is convex at the front and flat at the rear. It has triangular and ?circular open-work with two parallel ridges at one end. The rear face has multi-directional striations which may be file marks. The loop is 'D'-shaped in cross-section and is fractured in two places. The object is corroded and has patches of a matt green patina. The breaks are old. Length: 33.6mm; width: 30.5mm; thickness: 13.0mm. Weight: 10.84g.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative, pierced lug, Harlow type brooch (AD 43-65). This brooch was found in three pieces and found together. The break on the bow is fresh. The head of this brooch has a single pierced lug and the wings are semi-circular or semi-cylindrical in cross-section, convex at the front.
