An assemblage of eleven handles from Medieval ceramic jugs dating from about AD 1200 - 1500. All the vessel fragments are made from a hard fabric of fine texture with frequent small grey grit and sand inclusions. Some have a pale slip and all have a yellow to olive green glaze, often on one face only. Many of the handles are decorated with deep grooves or ribbing. One has three rows of short, oblique grooves decorating the wall next to the handle. Some also have holes on the inner face, pushed through into the adjoining handle on the outer face.
