A fragment of a medieval silver halfpenny of Edward III. Withers Type 5, London mint. Description: The coin is very worn and has some post-depositional damage with approximately 1/3 of the flan missing. The coin is very darkly coloured and detail is difficult to see, on the obverse in particular, but the bust has distinctive hollow eyes and mouth, typical of these coins. Measurements: Diameter 16.01mm Weight 0.37g.
