A copper alloy double looped buckle dating to c.1550-11650. The pin is missing. The frame has unusual irregular, slightly scalloped inside edges as the ouside edges, the loops are broadly pentagonal. The bar is narrowed and has small lobed knops at either end. There is a pointed expansion to each outdise edge and a moulded decoration to the frame, but this is now worn. The reverse is flat and undecorated. There are traces of black coating on the upper surface.

An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle dating to c.1350-1650. The pin and almost the whole of one loop is missing. The loop is sub-oval with bevelled inner edges. The outside edges of the loop are slightly expanded. The integral centre bar is narrrowed from the frame and D-shaped in section. There is a slight knop at either end of the bar. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
Reference: Whitehead (1996) illustrates similar buckles page 53, which are dated from c.1350-1650.

An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle dating to c.1550-1650. The pin and almost the whole of one loop is missing. The frame is oval with a D-shaped section, the central bar is narrowed and has a trapezoidal section with a small knop at each end. Both outside edges have a moulded rosette expansion at the centre. The reverse is flat and undecorated. There are traces of a black coating or lacquer on the frame.
