A very worn and heavily clipped silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), dated 1571 (North 1998). Ref: North 1991: 135.
The coin in clipped to a small size but the inner circle (measureable on the reverse) is 14.5mm suggesting the coin is a threepence, as does the date of 1571.
Obverse and obverse legend are completely worn and illegible but would have shown a crowned bust left, rose behind - [ELIZABETH D G ANG FR ET HI REGINA].
Reverse is worn but shows an unclear royal shield, [15]71 above. Reverse legend is mostly illegible but reads [P]OSV[I/ DEV. AD/IVTORE/M.MEV]. …

An incomplete copper alloy cross-guard (quillon) from a sword or possibly a dagger. The object is probably one side of the original guard, it is longitudinal and curved with an expanding rounded terminal creating a downward curving guard. At the opposing end is a crude break, the cross section is C-shaped, at the mid-point it has a sub-angular section, at the tip is has an oval section. It is flat on top with a groove part way along the underside (extending from the break) and tapers slightly to the rounded terminal. A complete copper-alloy strap distributor, bent to one side at one end (c. 10th-11th century). It is formed of two opposing strap loops, broadly triangular, with external recessed strap bars, which are connected by a central moulded animal head. The animal is viewed en face and is cat like, with small, slightly pointed ears, and two converging curved ridges which form both the eyebrows and nose; they do not meet. In profile the animal head can be seen to have gaping jaws. Emerging from the jaws, mirrored behind each ear, is an outcurving tendril. These have bevelled sides. On the …

An incomplete cast copper alloy pot foot dating to c.1200-1700. The foot is trapezoidal in section, tapering into a slightly rounded rear and with three longitudinal raised ribs running down the front, flaring slightly towards the base. It has an old irregular break at the upper end. The leg widens and spreads outwards at the base forming a trapezoid foot.
Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c.1200-1700 for serving and cooking. Butler et al (2009:4) suggest there were four main types of leg used. This is an example of Type A which they suggest was widespread …

A copper alloy leg from a tripod cooking vessel dating to c.1200-1500. The leg is sub-triangular with a triangular cross section. It tapers from the top where it was attached to the vessel to the foot. The outer surface has five high raised parallel ridges running longitudinally to approximately three quarters of the way down where there is a rounded transverse collar dividing the leg and the foot, below the collar it narrows and tapers to a rounded foot, the foot is slightly flattened and worn at the tip.
