A halfgroat of Edward III (1327-1377), pre-treaty type C, minted in London (1351-1352). The flan has been damaged at the edges, obscuring some of the outermost lettering. Obverse:- Stylised portrait of king facing outwards, enclosed by curvilinear border and legend. Legend around '[E]DWARD]VS REX A[NGL Z FRANC]' Reverse:- Long cross pattee with three pellets in each crutch, dividing legend into quarters. Legend around '[POSVI DEV AV]DITOREM [MEU]'
