A fragment of a copper-alloy unidentified object of uncertain date. It consists of a sub-rectangular main body, from which two oval cro-sectioned arms protrude. The main body has one face marked by a crude stamped cross, while the back face is flat and plain. The longer arm diverges laterally and bears a knob on its inner edge. Both the arms seem broken at the outer end. It might be a metalworking waste from casting process. Possibly a late medieval buckle dating to AD 1400-1450, cf. Egan-Pritchard (2002, p. 103, no. 471). A fragment of a copper-alloy Early Medieval to Medieval buckle, dating to AD 1000-1200. It consists of a narrow strip of metal, which has an angled and pointed oval cross-section. It has a curved profile in plan, although it might have suffered some post-depositional bending. The outside face bears an integral projecting animal head set at 45 degrees to it. The animal head has the moulded details of the muzzle, eyes and the ears; the latter are attached to the strip. A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman knife handle, dating to AD 150-400. The fragment depicts a full body stylised hare and belongs to the "hound and hare" Type. The head of the hare bears the details of the eyes and long ears. The rear paws of the animal are broken as well as the back of it, which should have had hare's tail and the muzzle of the hound chasing. The surfaces are pitted and worn.
