A ceramic vessel of probable Post Medieval date, about AD 1500 - 1800. Only half of the base of the vessel survives. The fabric is very hard and vitrified, probably a stoneware, with a fine texture and frequent small black inclusions in the buff coloured matrix. The diameter of the base would have been about 90mm. The walls are broken just after they start to flare outwards. The inside of the vessel contains some vitrified material, perhaps glaze or glass which is crazed and angular. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Mount or Escutcheon, probably from a vessel or similar item, of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1450-1750). The object is anthropomorphic in the form of a human face. The object is broadly oval in form, tapering to the chin, with sub-circular lobes, upper and lower flanking the central anthropomorphic element. The front of the bust is convex and the rear of the object concave. The object has moulded decoration in high relief on the front face.
