A complete copper alloy Mount (furniture) of Post-Medieval date (AD 1700-1900). The object is composed of a four lobed flat plate with a central perforation, through which a tapering shaft component passes. The shaft expands to either side of the plate with the back portion being formed of an expanded lobed with a small circular central spur. The opposing end expands to a circular lobe beyond which is an integral loop through which is a ring. The plate retains traces of rivets on each of the four lobes. A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Headstud Type, dating to AD 75-250. It is the head and the upper part of the bow of the brooch. The head consists of two cylindrical wings, which still house the copper-alloy bar; the central slot on the back face retains a fragment of the hinged pin-loop. The top of the head has fragments of the chain loop. The bow has a sub-rectangular cross-section and bears a stud on the front face; the stud is heavily worn. A Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type. The stem swells from an egg shaped knop at the distal end to a classic dolphin-back, marked at its zenith with a small convex oval stud. Four converging tracks of sunken beading, two of which circle the inside of the bar, proceed from the zenith down to curl around and under. the right side of the bars now broken. iron oxide staining inside the hinge point may indicate the remains of the bar are still present within the hinge. width across head excluding bar:- 12mm thinnest width of stem:- 4 mm
