An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1450 -1550. The buckle is a single looped D-shape with a narrowed and recessed strap bar. Lobed knops are present to either end of the bar and the outer loop of the frame is decorated with a series of transverse grooves resulting in a rope-work appearance. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The buckle is 42.9mm long, 31.3mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 6.3g.
