One spherical lead alloy shot / ball of probable post medieval or early modern date (1600-1800 AD). Due to the size and weight of the ball it is most likely to be from a pistol. The shot is sub spherical in shape with an uneven surface. It has clear casting seams and trimmed casting sprues from the mould. There is no evidence of the shot having been fired. A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Headstud Type, dating to AD 75-250. It is the head and the upper part of the bow of the brooch. The head consists of two cylindrical wings, which still house the copper-alloy bar; the central slot on the back face retains a fragment of the hinged pin-loop. The top of the head has fragments of the chain loop. The bow has a sub-rectangular cross-section and bears a stud on the front face; the stud is heavily worn. A complete cast copper-alloy Socketed Hammer, of late Bronze Age date (1000-800BC). The object is rectangular in cross-section, and a tapering sub-rectangular in plan. The sides of the object are slightly bevelled. The hammer in section waisted, expanding into a flared undecorated collar at the socketed end. The socket mouth is sub-rectangular. The hammer tapers sharply from the socket toward the mid-point, before again flaring more gently toward the hammer face. The striking face of the hammer shows evidence of use-wear. A copper alloy probably Post Medieval to Modern furniture fitting; part of a bowed drop handle from a drawer. Only one end survives. It has a short cylindrical pin which would have been held in a handle attachment lug, and then a wider swan-necked curved handle, broken at the base of the side of the handle. The handle is rectilinear in cross-section near the articulating pin, and circular in section at the break. The object is 28.9mm long, 17.8mm wide and weighs 3.94g. It has a dark green patina. There is a circular perforation in the end measuring 6.3mm in diameter and a larger, round hole measuring 11.8mm in diameter within a neck which protrudes around 6.5mm out from the opposite side, presumably to fit the handle. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1350 -1450. The buckle is a single looped D-shape with a lipped frame and a narrowed and recessed strap bar. The lip is notched for the pin. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a dark brown/green patina and is worn. The buckle is 15.1mm long, 15.1mm wide, 2.8mm thick and weighs 0.9g. An incomplete lead-alloy kosher seal of Post-Medieval to modern date, c.AD 1650 - 2000. The seal comprises a disc with integral connecting strip projecting slightly from one edge. The strip terminates in a worn break. Both sides of the seal have raised Hebrew lettering with the Star of David. The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. There is an eruption on one side of the ball, suggesting that a small bubble may have formed during casting. The ball has a light grey patina. It is 13mm in diameter (including casting sprue) and weighs 8.6g, suggesting that it was intended for use in a pistol. A complete lead-alloy bag seal of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1750 - 1900. The seal is roughly tear drop shaped with a rectangular cross section. The front is decorated with a stamped design of the crowned Dutch shield bearing the rampant lion of Holland framed within a border of raised pellets. The reverse is stamped with "R&A" which stands for Regten en Accynsen (Customs and Excise) over the control number "456". The metal has a light brown patina and is in fair condition. The seal is 22.3mm long, 17.8mm wide, 4.3mm thick and weighs 9.5g.
