An incomplete copper alloy plate brooch of Roman date (AD 100-200). The object is an Umbonate or Domed boss type, Mackreth 2011, British type 6.e (see plate 109, no.11166). The object is composed of a lipped sub-circular border which steps up to a steeply domed plate with a central boss/knop. The upper edge of the plate retains a partial projecting rounded upper lobe to the back of which are twin lugs which would have had an axis bar and pin would have been accommodated. A copper alloy Early Medieval bridle bit link, 46.8mm in length. The object has a complete loop attached to a bar with a sub rounded profile, which is attached to a thickened collar at the base of a second, possibly larger loop on the opposite end, which has broken off. A Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type. The stem swells from an egg shaped knop at the distal end to a classic dolphin-back, marked at its zenith with a small convex oval stud. Four converging tracks of sunken beading, two of which circle the inside of the bar, proceed from the zenith down to curl around and under. the right side of the bars now broken. iron oxide staining inside the hinge point may indicate the remains of the bar are still present within the hinge. width across head excluding bar:- 12mm thinnest width of stem:- 4 mm

An incomplete copper alloy dress hook, Read class A, type 2, dating from the early post-medieval period. about AD 1550 - 1700. It has a flat, oval body with three pierced lugs for attachment, one on each side of the oval and one at the base. At one end of the oval is a transverse strip, and the remains of a broad, curved hook, part of which has broken away and is missing. It has two sub-cylindrical wings, which are slightly open along the longitudinal median line on the back face; they house a copper-alloy bar and there is a slot on the back for the missing pin.
