A complete copper alloy strap end dating from the medieval period dating to c.14th Century AD. The strap end is of split end type, with a copper alloy rivet holding the two plates in place. The strap end is rectangular in shape, and narrows slightly towards the terminal end. The terminal end is a solid rectangular knop with incised diagonal notches. There is a narrow neck connecting this to the main body of the strap end. A copper alloy medieval strap-end possibly AD 750-1100 with zoomorphic decoration. The object is probably one half of a two-part piece, the other plate that was once attached by the pins, one of which is still present in part, having been lost in the soil.
