A small lead musket ball dating from the post-medieval period, about AD 1600 - 1900. The casting sprue remains and also part of the casting seam. There is an eruption on one side of the ball, suggesting that a small bubble may have formed during casting. The ball has a light grey patina. It is 13mm in diameter (including casting sprue) and weighs 8.6g, suggesting that it was intended for use in a pistol. For reference, see Harding, B F.,2012, Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study.
