One spherical lead alloy shot / ball of probable post medieval or early modern date (1600-1800 AD). Due to the size and weight of the ball it is most likely to be from a pistol. The shot is sub spherical in shape with an uneven surface. It has clear casting seams and trimmed casting sprues from the mould. There is no evidence of the shot having been fired. It is a mid-grey colour with abraded powdery patinated surface. Similar shot has been dated to the later post medieval period however the date range should extend into the early modern period as similar projectiles were used in fire…
