An incomplete whetstone of probable early-medieval date (c. AD 800 - 1100). Description: The whetstone is formed from a very fine-grained, sedimentary, mica-rich stone. It is sub-trapezoidal in plan with tapering sides and is trapezoidal in cross section although there is significant post-depositional damage that has changed its profile. Both ends are broken, probably in antiquity. Two sides are flat and smooth. The other sides are damaged. A cast lead artefact,probably a weight, of Medieval to Modern date, AD 1200 - 1900. It is in the form of a short squat bell, having a circular base and curved concave sides rising to a flat top. On the top is an integrally cast, rectangular suspension loop, pierced with a small, circular perforation. The weight has a patchy white patina. It is 19.1mm high, the diameter of the base is 28.1mm and it weighs 50.63g (1.78oz), so was probably intended as a two ounce weight. Similar weights are recorded on the database: compare for example records BERK-85F15B.

An engraved and curved copper alloy fragment, 36.2mm in length. One side is engraved with the letters oWo within a semicircular border, away from which a number of lines radiate. The design is orientated to a linear border around the rim or edge of the fragment. The reverse is undecorated and the profile, although distorted and bent, demonstrates a curve suggesting a piece of a vessel such as a skillet. Post Medieval.

A ceramic vessel of probable Post Medieval date, about AD 1500 - 1800. Only half of the base of the vessel survives. The fabric is very hard and vitrified, probably a stoneware, with a fine texture and frequent small black inclusions in the buff coloured matrix. The diameter of the base would have been about 90mm.
