An incomplete copper alloy Sword belt Strap Fitting of Post-Medieval date (AD 1550-1700). The object is the partial hooked plate. The plate is sub triangular in plan, with a transverse break across the middle of the plate, resulting in the loss of the hooked component. The opposing end has a rounded, perforated terminal to secure the object to a strap with a rivet. The plate is ornately shaped with lobed edges and is decorated with scrolls.
