An elaborate silver head from a Roman hair pin, 21.1mm in length. The form from the base to the tip comprises a conical lower collar, a flattened biconical reel, a large flattened sphere, a large double disc at the midpoint (diameter 9.2mm), a waisted reel, a smaller waisted reel and a conical or pointed acorn-shaped tip. The shaft is broken off at the base of the head. There is damage to the upper section in the form of a pronounced cut which has bent and nearly severed the tip of the pin head.
Length 21.1mm, diameter (at widest part) 9.2mm, weight 3.59g.

A Roman silver denarius, now worn but probably of the first or second century. A portrait outline and the remains of a legend are clearly visible on the obverse, and a standing figure is present on the reverse.
Obverse:- Head of emperor or empress facing right, legend [...] around.
Reverse:- Standing figure facing left. Legend '[...]' around.
