A large cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill brooch, incomplete and now in two refitting pieces. The brooch has wide arms with a C-shaped section, end caps and a double lug on the head / within the spring casing. The spring and pin are missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman T-shaped brooch with developed hinge, dating to the period AD 50-150. The brooch has tubular wings which encases the pin axis bar, with the head of the hinged pin remaining. The bow is rectangular in plan and tapers towards the foot of the brooch which is now missing. The bow is decorated with a raised, seraated central vertical rib to about a third down the bow's length. On the reverse this section is recessed. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative brooch of the sprung (Dolphin) type dating to the period AD 43-65. The brooch is a small example of the type measuring only 17mm in length in its current form. The brooch has short wings slightly curved in section and a corroded head lug.
