Lead alloy badge. Cast circular badge bearing the naturalistically rendered leftward-facing profile of a man wearing a soft hat, perhaps with badge or cockade; a collar ruff; and a fur-fringed garment with puffed, slashed or thick corduroy sleeves. The figure is set within a border of alternating pellets and bisected ovals perhaps pendent from an outer order of triangles, either as shorthand for the leaves of a wreath or perhaps standing for the vegetal garlands which sometimes frame images in earlier Renaissance art.
