Cast circular badge bearing the naturalistically rendered leftward-facing profile of a man wearing a soft hat, perhaps with badge or cockade; a collar ruff; and a fur-fringed garment with puffed, slashed or thick corduroy sleeves. The figure is set within a border of alternating pellets and bisected ovals perhaps pendent from an outer order of triangles, either as shorthand for the leaves of a wreath or perhaps standing for the vegetal garlands which sometimes frame images in earlier Renaissance art. Copper alloy and silver possible cuff link. A pair of copper alloy discs, of diameter 22.8mm and thickness 2.6mm [the front]; and 16.1mm and thickness 0.4mm [the back], the two being linked by a round section shank of diameter 3mm. The larger disc has a silver sheet metal front with a rounded plain edge bearing concentric bands of stamped and/or manually incised decoration. Copper alloy buckle. An unusually large cast double looped buckle frame of concavo-convex sub-rectangular form with a central strap bar set back from the rest of the frame. The frame itself is expanded and pointed at either end, and with three rounded lobes along its upper and lower edges. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1550-1650. Lead alloy ampulla. Hollow cast pilgrim badge in the form of a bulbous flask with side handles [lost, leaving a scar on one side] flanking a slightly contracted neck. One side bears a moulded compass-drawn flower of four petals with a fine reticulate or net-like field between the petals and around them up to the meeting of the two sides of the object. The other side bears an even finer reticulate field. The object has been neatly and obliquely cut across both its bulbous body and its neck, probably as a single operation.
