A complete, cast copper alloy strap fitting of Post Medieval date (1450-1700). The complex plate is heavily abraded. It has a symetrical outline either side of a central piercing, possibly representing two animal heads facing in opposite diections. The mount has a deep green patina with traces of gilding in the recesses of the front face. The undulating surface of the abraded plate suggests decorative moulding, with the suggestion of a eye socket in the possible head at each end.
