Copper alloy Post Medieval hooked strap fitting. Rectangular attachment loop with a 10mm wide integral strip projecting from its base to form a 42mm long rearward facing hook with a semi-circular shaped end. The return element of the hook has a deliberately shaped bend to it, in that it curves smoothly from the U-bent end to almost touch the back of the front part and then back out again to terminate just before the attachment loop at the head of the fitting. Fragment of a Late Roman copper alloy probable strap fitting or strap end, an attachment edge with fine notching across the full width and above three transverse engraved grooves which in turn lie above a single rivet. Both sides are damaged, one more than the other, but the object does appear to taper towards a jagged and ancient break. On the reverse there are many oblique ?hammer marks. Notches are frequently found on the attachment edges of Late Roman strap ends and strap fittings, sometimes in conjunction with transverse grooves, e.g. SF-B068BD and NMS-656311. Extant length 26.8m…

A post medieval cast copper alloy casket key c.1500-1600. The key is 33.2mm in overall length and has an oval shaped bow with two internal triangular projections adjacent to the stem. The oval cross-sectioned solid stem has three decorative collars next to the bow then tapers gradually to a pointed end that extends slightly beyond the bit. The bit is rectangular (5.2mm x 7.6mm) Weight 3.6g. There is an identical published record that can be found at HAMP-8EEA70 and gives a reference as; Read (2001, 73; fig. 47, no. 565), dating from the 16th century.

Medieval gilt copper alloy square harness mount for the suspension of a pendant, a hollow-backed four-sided pyramid with a very narrow basal flange, a central rivet hole (rivet missing) and bifurcated loop folded backwards around a spindle from which a fragment of a pendant is suspended. Slight traces of gilding remain. The form compares with that of BH-165342. See NMS-B25222 for a list of other Norfolk examples. Width 14.7mm. Length or height, excluding pendant, 23mm. An incomplete and bent Post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle with missing pin. The frame is rectangular in cross section with the outside ends of each loop formed into a triangle and bevelled externally on the upper face. There are lobed protrusions on each side at the extension of the central strap bar. Both faces are plain but there is substantial remains of a whitemetal coating.
