One lead alloy musket shot / ball of post medieval 1600-1800 date. The shots are sub-spherical in shape with a relatively even surface. The shot has a casting seam and spurs from being removed from the mould. It is a light grey colour with a relatively thick surface patina. Similar shots have been dated to the later post medieval period however the date range should extend into the early modern period as similar projectiles were used in firearms throughout this period. There are two diametrically opposed projections, one is a double lug pierced hinge with a small part of the base loop extant and held by a copper alloy pin. Copper alloy Post Medieval hollow openwork button. The hollow body is sub-circular with a small central pip at the extremity. Each half has six symmetrically arranged piriform shaped voids through to the hollow centre forming six spoked arms and a solid equatorial band. The loop is integral and flat with a circular piercing for attachment. On the forward half of the button each of the six arms has a moulded central cleft. An incomplete, copper alloy strap junction of the Late Iron Age or early Roman period, BC100-AD100. The object consists of four conjoined loops arranged around a solid centre which has a depression on both sides. Two of the loops are incomplete, with the remaining two showing evidence of wear; one in particular is very worn from use and is very thin on its outside edge. There is no decoration visible on any surface. Nicolay (2007, 49) indicates such strap junctions functioned as part of horse harness equipment, designed to "link the straps securing the saddle at front and back".…
