A copper-alloy Medieval shield shaped strap end, dating to the period c. AD 1350-1400. Notched on each side of the plate with a rounded inside edge, rivet on inside edge still present. The bar-mount has an arched section and single central rivet, also present. Both rivets have roves. There is also a small lozenge shaped mount with a single rivet hole attached to the rove of the bar-mount rivet. Similar to Egan and Pritchard, Dress Accessories, Page 157, no. 735 except with a rounded inner edge.

Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative rearhook brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type 3.a.d dating to the period c. AD 43 - 65. The C-shaped wings exhibit fully moulded decoration. Within, one wing exhibits traces of solder used to assist in securing the spring system. Projecting from the centre of the head is the curved rearhook. The bow tapers to the foot. It exhibits a moulded border and triple element down the middle, the middle element beaded. The catchplate projects from the lower bow and tapers to the foot, terminating in an old break.

A small Medieval copper alloy annular brooch, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1325. The brooch consists of a circular frame, with an externally bevelled cross section, and a constriction to hold a fine wire pin, which survives in situ. six slightly projecting collets are arranged equidistantly around the frame, each holding traces of a degraded glass setting and with the space between the collets filled by incised transverse lines.
Dimensions: diameter 17.1mm; thickness 2.8mm; weight 1.18g.
Similar brooches are published by Read (2001: 108, no. 781) and Margeson (1993: 16, no. 58)…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment of a blade, possibly a rapier, dating to the Bronze Age (c. 1500-1200 BC). The fragment is rectangular in plan and lozenge-shape in cross section - this being typical of the Bronze Age. The edges of the blade are narrow, rounded slightly and uneven, with minor patches of damage in places. The corners are also rounded. The shape of the blade is not quite parallel with one end being slightly wider than the other, but overall it has a relatively even profile. An incomplete Medieval buckle pin from an annular buckle, dating to the period c. AD 1200-1450. The buckle pin is square/rectangular in section with a ridged, rounded grip. Incomplete loop and the pin has also broken partway down its length. Surviving length of 33.09mm, width 4.56mm, max. thickness 6.33mm. 4.83g. An incomplete Middle Bronze Age socket and looped spear head, now in two parts (see also: WILT-E1266C) probably dating to 1550-1250 BC. This fragment comprises of the lower socket, circular in cross section and tapering towards the point, now lost, and with flattened attachment loops projecting from either side, these are sub oval when the spear head is viewed in profile.
Dimensions: length 41.7mm; width 19.8mm; diameter of mouth 16.4mm; weight 18.47g.

A large copper alloy button of possible 17-18th century date. the underside is concave and undecorated, the centre bearing the remains of the former attachment point. THe upper side is convex and decorated with stylised arrangements of swirling leaves, framing a central design that appears to resemble a sacre coeur or sacred heart.

A cast copper-alloy sub annular shoe/knee buckle with a drilled frame to mount a separate spindle of postmedieval date (AD 1660-1720), of the same type as example number 605 in Whitehead (2003, p.98). This example is more complete than that in the book, still having the central spindle and tongue intact.
The buckle has three round knops at both sides of the frame, the curving connecting bars between them being laterally ribbed. The tongue is 22mm long and consists of two thin sheets of metal. Measurements below are for the frame.

A Roman copper-alloy nummus of Constantine I (AD 306-337), dating to the period c.AD 313-15 (Reece Period 15). SOLI INVIC-TO COMITI reverse type depicting Sol with radiate crown standing left raising right hand, globe in left hand and chlamys across left shoulder. Mint of Trier. As RIC vol. VII, p. 168, no. 42. The coin is in a good condition with a slight crack at 2 o'clock on the obverse.
