A complete copper alloy coin weight dating to the Post Medieval period (AD 1760-1773). The weight is square in plan with 2 . 16 stamped on both faces. A cast copper-alloy sub annular shoe/knee buckle with a drilled frame to mount a separate spindle of postmedieval date (AD 1660-1720), of the same type as example number 605 in Whitehead (2003, p.98). This example is more complete than that in the book, still having the central spindle and tongue intact. The buckle has three round knops at both sides of the frame, the curving connecting bars between them being laterally ribbed. The tongue is 22mm long and consists of two thin sheets of metal. Measurements below are for the frame.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy open bell dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1800). The bell is oval in shape and is made from a single piece of sheet metal bent into a cone. The cone has been flattened on two opposing sides. The outside surface has simple decoration in the form of two sets of double-lined concentric bands roughly equally spaced apart. Surmounting the cone there is an integral cast circular-sectioned suspension loop that is now bent to one side and resting on the apex of the dome. Inside the bell are the broken remains of a thin suspended clapper which is …

Post Medieval token: a 17th century trade token issued by John Cherry of Worcester. Williamson (Williamson, G.C. Trade Tokens Issued in the 17th CenturySeaby Volume I-III) No. 132. Trade tokens were issued between 1648 and 1672 at a time when there was little low denomination coinage being issued by the crown. As a result traders and business proprietors began issuing tokens as an alternate coinage with equivalent denominations of a farthing, half penny or penny. Such trade tokens rarely travel far from their place of issue and provide an insight to the trade of the time. In 1672 …

Copper alloy and iron possible door fitting. Fragment of a cast object with a cylindrical solid component and a curved integrally cast hollow part, the latter mostly broken. The cylindrical part has ferrous corrosion trapped between inner and outer rings of copper alloy on that side opposite the projecting part. This is interpreted as the springing of a door handle, formerly seated and turning on an iron bar, and with a lighter curved handle. Probably polished by the finder. Traces of a stamped maker's name in capitals of modern form appear on the display face. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900. Height: 39.8mm, Widt…

Lead possible weight, as kindly identified by the finder. A square offcut of cast sheet of thickness 2.9mm with an incised design on one side: parts of three squares nested within each other are discernible. These are not linked or crossed by other lines, so a Merels or Nine Men's Morris board motif can probably be ruled out. Patinated, and lightly crumpled, producing concave sides to both the object and to the linear design marked on it. If indeed a weight, this may have represented one [underweight] averdepois ounce. A complete post-Medieval lead alloy ball (c. 1600-c. 1800). This ball is sub-spherical with a coarse surface and a large indentation possibly caused by impact. The ball has a faint flattened circumferential band (set-up) caused by the ball being squeezed against the inside of the muzzle during firing. The ball is grey with off-white and brown deposits. Diameter: 17.0mm. Weight: 23.04g. The weight suggests that it could have been used in a carbine (Harding 2012). Harding, D.F., 2012. Lead Shot of the English Civil War: A Radical Study. London.
