A complete hexagonal cast lead standing weight of medieval to post-medieval date (about AD1350-1800). It is of truncated piriform shape with a projecting knop or handle at its apex, which has a transverse pierced hole. The weight has an unmarked concave base. At 178.4g it may be comparable with half a Troy pound, which would date it from the mid-fourteenth century onwards (see Egan, 1998, p.302). The weight has a height of 34.3mm and a diameter of 32.3mm. As highlighted above, it weighs 178.4g. See Biggs and Withers (2000), pp. 32-33, for similar (although not hexagonal) examples.

A possible small lead weight of probable Post Medieval to Modern date. The object is a short cylinder of lead with slightly angled sides. The top is uneven and the base has two deep circular holes in, perhaps where a wire loop or two pieces of wire were anchored. The object has a grey colour and little patina. It is 14.7mm in diameter, 8.3mm thick and weighs 11.05g. This is likely to have been a weight with a function other than as a standard unit of mass. It could also be a more modern seal or electrical terminal anchor point etc.
