A clipped and worn silver solid long-cross penny of Edward I, AD1272-1307, type 1d-9c.
Obverse shows trifoliate crowned head facing which indicates class 1-9 only. There is evidence of a star on the breast and the drapery is formed of two wedges. Obverse legend reads EDWRANG[L]DNSH[YB] with a Lombardic H. The S is top-tilted indicating 8b or 9a class.
Reverse shows a long-cross with three pellets in each quarter. Reverse legend reads CIVI/TAS/LON/DON. The S is top-tilted and the N is Lombardic.
Die axis 6 o'clock, weight 1.20g, diameter 19.4mm and thickness 0.9mm.

An early-medieval silver penny of Coenwulf of Mercia (796-821), minted by Wihtred in an East Anglian mint, probably Ipswich (North 372; Cn 109; Naismith E12.7). Ref: North 1994: 95; Naismith 2011.
The edges are crumpled, folded and incomplete. The reverse design is most similar to Naismith 12.7d with annulets instead of pellets within the cental box.

Worn silver short-cross penny probably of John, AD 1199-1216. Class 5a/5b-5C, AD1204/5-c.1208/9. Obverse shows crowned head forward facing with sceptre. The browband of the crown is formed of five pellets with pelleted cross from centre. There is a pellet at the chin. Obverse reads HENRICVSR/E[X].
Reverse shows short-cross with a quatrefoil per quarter. Reverse reads +RENER.ON.LVND. The N and D of LVND for the mint of London are ligated.
Weight 1.05g, Diameter is 18.5mm and thickness is 0.8mm. Die axis is between 10 and 11 o'clock.
