A damaged and crushed single silver button from a post-medieval cufflink. The item is circular, with a concave reverse and a downward turned rim. The raised design on the upper surface comprises a pair of clasped hands, the wrists emerging from cuffs, and a single arched crown located above the hands and a single heart below. This is unusual as cufflinks of this type and decoration more commonly show two hearts. The heart has a leaf-like projection within its cleft, possibly a flame. A Roman ring headed pin of copper alloy. The pin has a circular shaft, slightly swollen towards the upper part and narrowing evenly to each end. It is bent slightly in the centre and has a blunt, rounded, point and a 90 degree bend at the top where it turns out to meet the ring shaped head. While covered in linear striations there is no clear seam. It is possible however that the pin is hollow rolled thick sheet rather than solid.
