This is an undecorated lead conical spindle whorl with an off centre hole. Plain lead spindle whorls and weights were cast locally from the Roman period to the Post Medieval Period, therefore making them hard to date precisely.

A lead label, seal or tally of Modern date, about AD 1800 - 1900. It is in the form of a rectangular plate with cut straight edges, and with a circular perforation (countersunk on one face) in the middle of one short end. It is stamped with the number 42 at next to the hole, and the number 5 at the other end, much more faintly, and the other way up. There is a piece of very fine copper alloy wire which passes through the hole and is twisted to form a loop. The tag is 30.6mm long, 18.6mm wide and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 10.92g. It has a smooth yellow cream patina. Compare NLM-570DB5.

An unidentified lead artefact of Unknown date. It Is a sub-circular object, with all the outer edges being broken. One face is concave and one face is convex. There is a circular and carefully moulded hole in the centre. The concave face is the least damaged area and has a grey brown patina. The damaged edges reveal a cream grey core. It is 14.3mm long, 11.7mm wide and 4.9mm thick. It weighs 2.1g.

Lead and white metal weight. A small flat-based discoid or cylindrical weight with an embedded object occupying a slightly [0.8mm] sunken hollow on one side. The embedded object is a grey, flat, plain metallic disc with a neatly incised line across its middle; a shallow depression appears on the opposite flat surface. One edge of the weight is either distorted by impact or lightly melted. If of Anglo-Scandinavian date, the mass might suggest this to have represented two [underweight] Viking Age units of 4.07gms.
