A copper-alloy jetton of Medieval date 1280-1345 of English origin and based on the contemporary silver long-cross coinage. The obverse image may represent a transition between the king's bust type (e.g. Mitchiner 1988: 101) and the lion type (e.g. Mitchiner: 113, no. 216). The reverse cross is similar in form to Mitchiner no. 202 (p. 112).
The jetton survives in good condition, with a dark green patina and little wear or corrosion. It measures 20.09mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick and weighs 3.6g.
