An incomplete and somewhat corroded copper-alloy bow brooch of Hod Hill type 10c , dating c. AD 43-75. The pin and part of the head along with the foot are missing in old breaks, but otherwise the brooch is preserved intact. It demonstrates a circular sectioned tubular head with an internal separate iron axis bar,a small rectangular point at its mid-section representing the original hinging location of the pin. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy zoomorphic plate-brooch, probably depicting a water bird. Dating around AD 100-200.
The brooch has a long narrow body with a fan tail at one end and a thick neck with an oval shaped head at the other. There is evidence of incised decoration at the base of the neck and part of the back which consists of diagonal lines. Any other decoration has not survived.
The pin holder is located on the underside of the brooch by the neck. This is incomplete and no pin survives. The catchment plate is at the tail end of the bird and is also not complete.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester Derivative rearhook type dating to the Roman period, c. AD 43-100. The brooch is quite heavily distorted in post-depositional damage, the axis bar, spring and pin missing in old damage. It demonstrates a semi-spherically sectioned winged head, at the midpoint of which on its reverse face is the remains of a rearward-facing hook. Only the head and upper bow survive, the pin, lower bow and foot missing in old breaks. The head demonstrates plain semi-spherically sectioned wings, a perforated double-lug projecting from its midpoint on the rear face of the object.
