Blue grey flint with thick cortex, core. Pyramidal chunk with broad flakes removed by unidirectional working using the flat thick area of cortex as striking platform. A light misty speckling suggests the object was exposed to a calcareous environment for a limited period after its deposition. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Height: 27.7mm, Width: 33.7mm, Thickness: 28.0mm, Weight: 28.33gms

Blue grey flint with cortex, core. A small chunk with broad parallel flakes struck from one side using a flat striking platform, and with larger concave flake removal scars on its other sides, either as a result of breakage or of more casual hard hammer working. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Height: 34.3mm, Width: 38.2mm, Thickness: 22.1mm, Weight: 24.31gms

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint scraper, as kindly identified by the finder. A flake with irregular and convex flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a flat ventral surface. A pale grey patina extends over all surfaces, arising from a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, removed by short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect along the concave edge on one side, forming a notched scraper. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 32.8mm, Width: 15.8mm, Thickness: 3.7mm, Weight: 2.14gms

Blue grey flint with cortex, core. An irregular chunk with long narrow parallel flakes removed from one side, and with shorter parallel flakes struck from other surfaces, presumably by multangular working. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC. Height: 28.5mm, Width: 35.8mm, Thickness: 25.7mm, Weight: 27.31gms

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Pale brown flint with cortex, knife, as kindly identified by the finder. Leaf-shaped flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a bulb at one end of its ventral surface. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a long curved edge. Misty patina suggests the object was exposed to a calcareous environment for a period after its deposition. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 43.9mm, Width: 26.6mm, Thickness: 5.8mm, Weight: 7.69gms

Object type: BACKED BLADE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Flint with cortex strip, backed blade, as kindly identified by the finder. A thin oval flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side, a bulb on the ventral surface, and angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect following one curved edge. A strip of cortex is retained along the opposite edge enabling pressure to be brought to bear on it. Dense creamy patina overall suggest the object has endured a prolonged period of exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Length: 35.8mm, Width: 32.8mm, Thickness: 5.2mm, Weight: 6.98gms

Long angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows one straight edge. Suggested date: Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, 2700-1600 BC. Record ID: NLM-B5F838
Object type: CORE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint with recortification on one flat side, core, as kindly identified by the finder. A small irregular chunk with broad flakes removed by probably multangular working, of which one episode used a flat face covered by creamy re-formed cortex as a striking platform. This object is significantly less tidily worked than numerous cores previously reported from the vicinity, with some faces appearing irregularly fractured. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Height: 26.8mm, Width: 20.7mm, Thickness: 21.1mm, Weight: 15.18gms

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint with limited recortification, scraper, as kindly identified by the finder. An irregular trapezoid flake with large parallel flakes struck by unidirectional invasive angled hard hammer working from the dorsal side, and with an irregularly fractured ventral surface. The reformation of cortex is interrupted by this working, which may suggest the reuse of a previously discarded chunk. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Length: 44.0mm, Width: 34.1mm, Thickness: 14.5mm, Weight: 23.60gms
