An incomplete cast copper-alloy near complete early-medieval strap-end of Tomas Class B type 1, c.AD 775-950. Description: The strap-end is formed by a long narrow piece of copper split at the attachment end with two rivet holes, but it is incomplete. With even parallel sides, tapering slightly towards the zoomorphic terminal. The terminal is simply formed with crescent eyes and a short blunt tapering snout. A fragment of Post-Medieval copper-alloy spur terminal. Description: The fragment consists an incomplete spur arm D-shaped in cross-section and terminating in a worn break at one end. At the other end the bar expands into a transverse collar and from there into a sub-circular section with an off-centre drilled perforation, from this expands a further perforated circular section, at between 12 and 1 o'clock relative to the bar. A possible Mousterian point of Middle Palaeolithic date. Description: The point is roughly triangular in plan and cross-section, with an apparently facetted butt end. The point is formed by long flaked removals with extensive edged retouch along each edge. The retouch is short scaled, semi-abrupt, this is more intense along the right edge. The conchoidal rippling is very extensive. The flint is a dark brown colour with some light brown inclusions. Measurements: 59.94mm long, 35.43mm wide, 10.65mm thick and 24.5g in weight.
