A large copper alloy Iron Age enamelled crescentic terret, measuring 89.9mm by 80.2mm. The ring has a maximum internal diameter of 62.3mm and terminates in a pair of roundels 24.2mm in diameter which form parallel in-line collars to a convex and trapezoidal attachment bar.
The flattened ring of the terret is decorated with elaborate 'S' shape or La Tene style scrolls conjoined into a moustache-like motif, set against an inlaid ground of red enamel. This design is comparable with the designs found on other examples of flat-ring terrets (e.g. NMS-30AC24 and NMS-6599B4). The…
