A cast copper-alloy fragment likely from a 17th century toy musket. Description: The fragment represents the butt end of the musket's stock and is roughly triangluar in plan having snapped just before the grip. In each point of the triangle is aring and dot represents the rivets/screws holding parts of the stock together. The stock is partially patinated with some green coperr-corrosion but mostly remains a dark brown colour. Measurements: 19.41mm long, 31.85mm wide, 3.92mm thick and 8.01g in weight. two lead musket ball dating to the post-medieval period c.17th-19th centuries. Description: The musket ball is spherecal and appears to have a sprue scar remaining as well as distinct 'flash' visible along the mould line. Likely this was caused by the two mould halves having been poorly seated. Normally lost through bumping in transport or through use, here it is intact, suggesting the bullet was found close to its point of manufacture and was never fired. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Post-Medieval double looped or 'spectacle' buckle dating c. AD1550-1650. Description: The buckle consists of two ovoid loops with small lentoid knops at either end of the central strap bar. The loops are undecorated, but lightly bevelled with a flat back. One of the loops is almost entirely missing. The pin is missing. The strap bar is slightly in relief. The buckle is a mid-grey green colour with some speckling light green colour. A worn Medieval copper alloy heraldic mount, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1400. Description: The mount is shield-shaped, with a square top tapering to a point below, with slightly convex sides. The shield is heavily worn but the heraldic motif of 'Five lozenge (fusily) bend', the tincture (colour) is uncertain due to the wear of the object, this also prevents us from establishing the provenance of this heraldry.
