An incomplete copper alloy Brooch of Late Iron Age date (100 BC-AD 100). The object is a Le Tene III type and is formed from one piece of copper alloy wire which is square in section. This forms the spring which is twisted twice on one side of the bow and loops under the bow where it terminate in a break. The break results in the loss of two more loops of the spring and the pin. The wire, projecting from the centre of the spring component forms the main body of the brooch. A complete but slightly squashed Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy domed ('beehive') closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550). This thimble would have been circular in plan and the thick walls taper inwards from the base towards the crown. There is a plain rim and no manufacturing marks.
