An incomplete copper-alloy Mount of Post-Medieval date (AD 1600-1700). The central part is sub-oval in plan. The upper part of the body is in the form of a fleur de lis, there is then a narrow waist before the lower part of the body which is an upward pointing triangle with a rounded projection from the wide end. The upper surface of the mount is smooth and has a black colour, probably indicating a coating of oil or lacquer. A complete cast copper-alloy Medieval bar mount, dating to the 14th century AD. Remains of one rivet is in situ. The mount is formed of a central sub-oval body from which two sub-circular terminal lobes extend.The terminal lobes are drilled and countersunk below to accomodate copper alloy rivets which would have attached the mount to a strap.The terminal lobes are of same lengths.
