An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Langton Down type of the early Roman period, c. 25-60 AD. The wings, are undecorated and cylindrical in cross section enclosing the corroded spring mechanism. The seam is visible and the remains of the pin is corroded and visible. The catchplate is damaged and only part is left. The bow consists of a thin strip of metal with broadly parallel sides ending in a fairly straight edge at the foot. The front of the bow is decorated with a delightful swirling pattern with a rib of chased rib like dots. The brooch is very similar to Item 773, P165…

An incomplete and very heavily worn cast lead statuette or figurine of Cupid in flight probably of Roman date c.AD 43-410. Description: The cupid has a large head with some detail of the face visible, the hair in a bowl style or ringlets and frames the face. The eyes, nose and mouth are subtly formed but are heavily worn and pitted one cannot be certain of their form. The hair is very worn also with no detail visible save for the framing curls around the edge. The arms and legs are both missing the ends of the extremities. An incomplete copper-alloy La Tene III, Nauheim Derivative brooch dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (c.50 BC- AD 75). The head of the brooch is formed of flattened sheet of metal which rolls under to form a tubular hinge mechanism with an axis bar, which would have held the pin in place. The loop of the pin remains corroded around the axis bar though the pin proper is missing. A further double moulding limits a plain zone, with a zone of elongated triangular facets beyond it; the object is broken at a further double collar moulding, where its section approaches a flat-sided sub-rectangular form. Cast copper alloy Roman button and loop fastener. The object has convex pointed oval head. The head is decorated with seven sub rectangular recessed cells. Everyother cell contains red enamel it is likely that the other cells were enameled with a different colour. The object has a triangular loop extending at 90 degrees from the head. The object is complete has a green patina and is in a good state of preservation. This is a Wild Class III, dating to the late 1st- 2nd century AD.
