A cast copper alloy fragment of a V shaped lug handle from a copper alloy cauldron of later medieval date (1300 - 1600). The handle is rectangular in plan tapering being a faceted cylindrical shape. The top expands and is dished and would have been soldered to the body of the vessel. The opposite end is irregular and broken. The angle of the handle, when the base is placed on a horizontal surface, is approximately 85°. It is undecorated and is a mid-green colour with an uneven patina. This patina has been abraded in several places, probably through movement in the soil. Similar examp…

A large, curved fragment of a copper alloy Post Medieval vessel, 116mm in length. The fragment consists of a sharply everted rim, with a worn groove around the inside lip and a lower break at a sharp change in profile. Probably part of a cauldron; however the pronounced thickness of the fragment (8.4mm) may alternatively suggest a Mortar. Medieval to early Post-Medieval.
