A complete cast copper-alloy double loop rectangular buckle with drilled frame for separate spindle of 14th-15th century date. The buckle has a notched front with transverse groove. Flanged sides. Cast copper alloy spindle and locking arm terminating in a spherical knop. The buckle has a green patina. Measurements: frame 28.97mm long, 12.01mm wide, 5.77mm thick. 37.14mm overall length, 31.95mm overall width, and 11.05g in weight. Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead "Buckles 1250-1800" page 89.

An incomplete post Medieval cast copper alloy double-loop buckle frame. The buckle has broken (old breaks) where the second loop would have joined the strap bar. The remaining loop tapers to a blunt point. The inside of the loop is bevelled and the reverse is concave. There is no apparent decoration on the object and it is missing its pin. The object has a brown patina. Length 24.2mm long. Width 26.6mm. Thickness 2.1mm. Weight 2.40g. A similar buckle is illustrated in Whitehead (2003), p.55, no.315 and is dated to circa 1500-1650.

A probable iron cannon ball of post-medieval date, (circa 1550-1700AD) The cannonball is sub-spherical with a diameter ranging from 97.93mm to 81.47mm. It weighs 1.80 kilograms . The ball is of a dark-brown or rust red colour.with blackening to one side and lighter greyish areas. The cannon ball is in used condition with multiple pitting and dents. This cannon ball may date to the Dutch raid on the Medway Ports (1667AD), having been recovered lying on the mud at low tide close off Upnor Castle.

A rim fragment of hard fired vessel likely jar produced in Kentish sandy ware fabric of possible late Medieval 1125 - 1250. The fabric is medium hard fired orange externally with a grey centre and has fairly medium spares speck to small white shell temper, mainly visible on the surface with little internally. It has impressed lettering with ORTON & SON ATHERSTONE around the edge. Cast copper alloy belt stud, circular in plan and domed and stepped in profile, with a flattened, recessed edge around the circumference of the mount, about 2 mm thick, surrounding the central dome that is 24 mm in diameter. There are two integral pointed lugs on the back, one that is 11 mm long and curved inwards and the is 5mm long and curves outwards both of which would have originally attached the stud to a leather belt or strap. Read (2001) illustrates similar domed studs with two integral pointed lugs on page 33, fig.18, nos.266-7, which are dated from the 17th century.

A copper alloy locking key of probable late medieval date. The key is in very good complete condition although the wards are filled with hardened soil. A rectangular unidentified copper object. possibly post-medieval in date, circa 16th century. It comprises a flat, rectangular plate with an integral flat arm extending from one end. The surface has an incised perimeter enclosing a series of transverse lines forming a ladder motif. The straight lines run across about 3mm apart. The reverse is plain.

Half of a cast copper-alloy double loop buckle frame. The surviving loop is oval internally and has moulded acorn knops, the cups of which have some moulded detail, on the outer edge and at either end of the strap bar, which is narrowed. The second half has broken cleanly, almost without trace, but it was probably identical. The reverse of the buckle is hollowed. A tapering copper-alloy pin with open loop survives on the bar. 30.17mm long and 31.82mm wide. Weighs 6.3g. Whitehead illustrates similar examples (2003, 66, nos. 406 & 410) which he dates to c.1550-1650.

A complete Medieval cast copper alloy rotary key dating to c. AD 1150-1400. The key has a sub-circular bow with a circular central perforation. The bow measures 12.7 mm in diameter and thickens toward the shank. The shank measures 21.7 mm in length and 4.0 mmin thickness. It has a sub-rectangular section and tapers toward to a hollow recessed end. The bit measures 8 mm in length and 12.6 mmin width.
