A Medieval copper-alloy folded sheet plate from a book clasp strap-end (c. 1350-c. 1450). The plate, made from a complete piece of metal, is folded widthways and each part is of equal length. It is sub-rectangular in plan with broadly parallel sides and a concave attachment end. Near the terminal end, the sides taper inwards to form a recess to accommodate a loop (now missing). At the centre of the attachment end there is a flat-headed copper-alloy rivet. A rivet hole on the same alignment and close to the terminal end has a diameter of 2.2mm. The upper edge is broken, but not recently. The decoration is in the form of a low-relief palmette motif with a horizontal bar along the base. A complete cast copper-alloy double loop rectangular buckle with drilled frame for separate spindle of 14th-15th century date. The buckle has a notched front with transverse groove. Flanged sides. Cast copper alloy spindle and locking arm terminating in a spherical knop. The buckle has a green patina. Measurements: frame 28.97mm long, 12.01mm wide, 5.77mm thick. 37.14mm overall length, 31.95mm overall width, and 11.05g in weight. Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead "Buckles 1250-1800" page 89.

A probable iron cannon ball of post-medieval date, (circa 1550-1700AD) The cannonball is sub-spherical with a diameter ranging from 97.93mm to 81.47mm. It weighs 1.80 kilograms . The ball is of a dark-brown or rust red colour.with blackening to one side and lighter greyish areas. The cannon ball is in used condition with multiple pitting and dents. This cannon ball may date to the Dutch raid on the Medway Ports (1667AD), having been recovered lying on the mud at low tide close off Upnor Castle.
