An incomplete cast, copper-alloy Medieval annual brooch probably dating to c. 1250 – 1450.
Description: Heavily corroded. The brooch is missing its pin. It is circular in form with a circular cross-section and a constriction where the pin would have fitted. The pin would have been fitted around the indent on the frame, with both wire and sheet copper having been used in the past. The brooch features no decoration and is dark grey in colour.

A post-Medieval glass linen smoother (c. 1500-c. 1900).
It is unclear whether this smoother is incomplete or was made as such.
This dark green translucent smoother is semi-circular in plan, domed at the front and hollow at the rear. The domed surface is very smooth and the straight edge (not a break) is flat and as smooth as the domed surface. At the front a flake chipped from the edge has conchoidal fracturing. The rear face has two flakes chipped which also have conchoidal fracturing and could be related to a pontil scar. There is no indication that a handle existed.

An incomplete long cross silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307 AD). Class 3g, circa 1280-1282 AD. Obverse: A trifoliate crown with outwardly curved side fleurs. Bust facing forward. The drapery consists of two wedges, small bust with narrow face. Reverse: A long cross with three pellets in each quarter. London mint. A large section of the coin is missing between the obverse 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions. Diameter 19.89mm, thickness 0.73mm and weight 1.1gms.

A partial rod handle from a glazed earthenware jug of Medieval date c1150-c1400. The fabric is a hard earthenware and is light grey in colour, with an oxidised light orange surface. On the outer edge is a green coloured glaze. There is one deliberate hollow puncture on the outer edge of the handle.
38mm high, 25mm in diameter. Weight 31g.

Description: A cast gold and garnet pyramidal mount from the early-medieval period. The mount has an octagonal base, four main triangular faces and a flat top. Each face is decorated with a simple cloisonné design comprising a triangular cell above a rectangular to sub-trapezoidal cell, most of which are inlaid with flat-cut garnets. The edges of the pyramid are inlaid with rectangular garnets shaped to follow the rounded turn of the edge, and at each lower corner are triangular facets also containing flat-cut garnets. A fragment of a Roman copper alloy Wroxeter type brooch, probably dating to c. AD 75-200. The surviving fragment comprises of the head and upper bow. The head is D-shaped, with a straight upper edge, and a slightly concave reverse. The vestigial remains of a perforated lug project from either lateral edge, and with a slight lip on the lower and upper edges. The pin and axis bar have been lost. An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy Colchester derivative inital T-shaped brooch dating to cAD50 - 100. It consists of part of the head, the bow and catchplate. The left wing, pin and most of the pin rest have been lost.

An incomplete copper-alloy bow and fantail brooch of Roman date, c.AD 50 - 150. Only the fantail now remains, the rest having been lost to worn breaks.
The fantail is triangular and a transverse collar is present at the narrower end, where it would have joined the upper bow. The front of the fantail is decorated with a central column of three vertically aligned conjoined lozenge shaped cells. These cells are flanked by smaller recessed triangular cells. No enamel is retained. The worn remains of a catchplate project from the reverse of the lower bow.

A fragment of Roman copper alloy brooch, probably a colchester derivative type, dating to c. AD 50-150. The surviving fragment comprises of the foot and catchplate only. The foot is sub-circular in cross section and tapers slightly into an unelaborated foot with a central longitudinal ridge running down its front. From the reverse projects an integral, sub-triangular, unperforated catchplate, with pin rest curving to the right.
Dimensions: It is 36.74mm in length, 16.54mm in width (across the catchplate) and weighs 7.96g.

A copper alloy Medieval seal matrix dating from about AD 1200 - 1400. It is circular and central motif is a female forward facing bust wearing a headdress with a chin strap and drapery, perhaps a wimple. The legend reads S' CISSILIE DE SWINLVNGTE (Seal of Cecily of [...]). On the reverse is a projecting lug at one edge, with a circular hole through it for suspension. The matix has a grey patina with some red metal showing, and a pitted surface. The object has a diameter of 24.8mm, is 3.2mm thick and weighs 8.24g.

An incomplete copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date, c. AD 75 - 175. The head of the brooch is ovate with a concave reverse which retains a two tubular lugs. An axis bar remains fitted through the lugs, its ends terminating in worn breaks. An incomplete circular sectioned pin remains fitted around the axis bar in the space between the two lugs.
A circular sectioned bow extends from the front of the head, curving to a circular acanthus-style moulding. Below the moulding is a worn break.

A copper alloy Medieval seal matrix dating from about AD 1200 - 1400. It is a pedestal type with a circular face with a faceted reverse rising to a short stem and a lozenge shaped suspension loop. The central motif is a squirrel, facing left on the impression. The legend reads **IVASAMA which does not appears to make sense. It hs a smooth grey patina with some red metal showing where it is chipped. The item is 24.7mm high in total, 18.7mm in diameter and 2.1mm thick at the edge. It weighs 8g. WMID-E1E450 is a similar example with a nonsense legend.
