An incomplete late Iron Age or early Roman copper alloy Colchester brooch dating to cAD 25 - 60. The spring, pin and majority of the catchplate have been lost. At the head of the bow two short wings survive largely complete, although both appeatr to have been bent backwards, a central upwards curving hook projects from the centre of the reverse of the head. A second hook, curving forwards, projects from the head of the brooch, and would have originally held an external chord.
