A ceramic vessel base and wall sherd of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. A small part of the base and the 70 degree change of angle to the wall survives. The fabric is hard and gritty, irregular in texture with frequent poorly sorted quartz inclusions and some dull, dark orange inclusions. It is light grey in the core with orange surfaces. A ceramic vessel rim sherd of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. About 7.5% of the rim survives, from a vessel with a rim diameter of about 200mm. The fabric is hard and gritty, fine in texture with frequent poorly sorted quartz inclusions and some dull, dark red inclusions. It is pale yellow to tan throughout. The wall of the vessel slopes inwards and the rim is squared with a slightly concave top and straight outer edge. It is 47.6mm long, 19.1mm tall and 14.1mm thick. 16.4g.

It is a tightly rolled strip of sheet lead which is about 1.3mm thick and 11.9mm wide, now forming an approximate cylinder of 9.8mm wide and 7.9mm thick. 6.6g. It is sub-triangular with rounded corners, but is probably intended to be shield shaped (flat top with curved sides meeting at a point at the base). The central area is much thicker than the edge.
